Basically I am from north Karnataka. Our side no one is there without hearing and  tasting delicious sweet Karadantu.Especially my mom prepares it very well..Any function at  my home without went by my mom made superb karadantu....even I tried to make many times but it is not like my mom..I took recipe from my mom and sharing with you all:)

My mom always say's If u cook any food with love and affection it will have perfect taste.

 Ingredients

Dalia fpowder(putani hittu)-  2 cups
sugar powder-1.5 cups
Ghee-1/2 cup
Dry fruits-1/2 cup
Grated dry coconut-1/4th cup.
poppy seeds-1tbsp
Water- 2 cups

Roast poppy seeds(kas-kasi),grated dry coconut, dry fruits with ghee and keep it aside.

Take nonstick large pan and add water and sugar, add little bit ghee..let the sugar melt with water completely becomes sugar syrup and continue heating  for 15-20 minutes. To check consistency take half cup of water and mix sugar syrup. If syrup remains like crystals without melting in water.(it is called aana our side).

After this consistency pour dalia powder in sugar syrup and keep on stirring with one hand, care should be taken to avoid lumps.Stir evenly until it becomes paste.

Take one plate apply ghee and pour dalia powder and sugar paste on it evenly.Sprinkle dry coconut powder, dry fruits and poppy seeds on top of paste.Let it cool for 5-10 minutes cut it in diamond shape..home madeyummy karadantu ready to taste.
